FAQ
How do VKTRY Insoles specifically help volleyball players?
Volleyball is a sport of vertical explosiveness and repeated landing impact — two areas where VKs are designed to help. Attackers and blockers jump hundreds of times per match and per practice, landing on hard gym floors that transmit significant shock to the knees, ankles, and hips. VKTRY's spring-like carbon fiber baseplate is designed to return energy at push-off, which can help athletes get higher on their jumps, while the shock absorption can help reduce the impact load on landings. The stability component can also help support ankle positioning during the quick lateral shuffles defenders make when tracking shots. In independent testing, athletes tested generated an average of 9.3% more explosive force wearing VKs. Individual results will vary.
Do VKTRY Insoles help with patellar tendinitis (jumper's knee) in volleyball?
Patellar tendinitis — commonly called "jumper's knee" — is one of the defining overuse injuries of volleyball. It develops from repetitive loading of the patellar tendon during jump-landing cycles, and can be a career-limiting condition for high-level players. VKTRY's shock absorption can help reduce the peak impact force on the lower limb at each landing, a contributing factor in patellar tendon stress. The structural stabilization of the foot can also help reduce compensatory knee mechanics (inward knee collapse on landing) associated with tendon stress. VKs are not a medical device. Consult your physician if currently managing patellar tendinitis.
Are VKTRY Insoles good for beach volleyball players as well as indoor?
VKs are designed for indoor volleyball, not beach. Indoor volleyball is played on hard gym floors that transmit significant shock to the knees, ankles, and hips, so VKs can help with vertical jump and can help reduce the impact load on landings. Beach volleyball is played barefoot on sand, so there's no shoe to put an insole in — VKs aren't worn for beach match play. Beach players who want the benefit can still use VKs in their training shoes for gym work and conditioning. Individual results will vary.
Are carbon fiber insoles legal in NCAA, NAIA, and FIVB volleyball?
Yes. VKTRY Insoles are fully permitted under NCAA, NAIA, NFHS, and FIVB (international) volleyball regulations. Orthotic insoles are classified as standard equipment in volleyball at all levels — no restriction exists for insole material, including carbon fiber. VKs are worn by high school, college, and professional volleyball players without restriction.
Do VKTRY Insoles fit in volleyball shoes?
Yes. Most volleyball-specific shoes (Mizuno Wave, ASICS Gel-Rocket, Adidas Crazyflight, Nike React Hyperset) have interior volumes designed to accommodate aftermarket insoles. VKs replace the factory insole rather than sitting on top of it. The break-in process (3–5 days of light training before full match use) is particularly important for volleyball players because the explosive jump-landing cycle places higher demands on the insole than most other sports. Sizing is by shoe size, gender, and body weight.
